Accessibility
Last updated: January 2025
Everyone deserves equal access to digital tools. We're committed to making Headless accessible to all users, regardless of ability or assistive technology.
Our Commitment
Accessibility isn't an afterthought—it's part of how we build. We aim to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across our platform.
We continuously test and improve our accessibility. When we fall short, we want to know so we can fix it.
Accessibility Features
- →Keyboard navigation. All functionality is accessible via keyboard. Use Tab, Enter, Escape, and arrow keys to navigate.
- →Screen reader support. Semantic HTML and ARIA labels ensure compatibility with screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
- →Color contrast. Text and UI elements meet WCAG contrast requirements. We don't rely on color alone to convey information.
- →Focus indicators. Clear, visible focus states help you see where you are on the page.
- →Resizable text. The interface scales properly when you increase text size up to 200%.
- →Reduced motion. We respect the `prefers-reduced-motion` setting for users sensitive to animation.
Tested With
We regularly test Headless with:
- • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- • NVDA on Windows
- • JAWS on Windows
- • Keyboard-only navigation
- • High contrast mode
- • Browser zoom up to 200%
Known Limitations
We're actively working to improve these areas:
- • Complex drag-and-drop interactions in the content type builder have keyboard alternatives, but we're improving the experience.
- • Some third-party embedded content may not meet our accessibility standards.
We track accessibility issues and prioritize fixes in our development process.
Report an Issue
Encountered a barrier? We want to fix it. Please contact us with:
- • The URL of the page
- • A description of the issue
- • The assistive technology you're using (if applicable)
- • Your browser and operating system
Email us at support@headless.build and we'll respond within 5 business days.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We conduct regular audits, incorporate accessibility into our design and development process, and train our team on best practices. Every new feature is reviewed for accessibility before release.
